Police Records is a section of the Administrative Services Division. The Records Unit maintains the official records compiled by all divisions that comprise the Rockwall Police Department.
PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUEST
Anyone may request information from the Rockwall Police Department pursuant to the Public Information Act. The Rockwall Police Department has ten (10) business days to respond to your request. Requests concerning juveniles, criminal investigations, child abuse investigations, and sexual assault investigations can be sent to the Texas Attorney General's Office for an opinion. In the event the Department deems the requested information to be exempt from public discloser, a decision from the Texas Attorney General will be requested. If an Attorney General's opinion is sought, you will be notified in writing.
When requesting information the requestor must provide a detailed description of the documents that they are requesting. The request must include the type on incident(s),name(s) of people involved, date(s), time(s), & location(s). (Failure to provide specific information may result in the delay of fulfilling the request.)
An open records request can be made online by accessing the Public Records Center or in person by submitting a Public Information Request Form and returning it in person during regular business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or by mail to the Rockwall Police Department Records Division, 205 W. Rusk Street, Rockwall, Texas 75087.
