Chief Kirk Riggs

Chief Kirk Riggs has over 40 years of law enforcement experience and served as the Assistant Chief with the Rockwall Police Department for nine years, before being appointed Police Chief in July of 2015. Prior to coming to Rockwall, he moved through the rank structure to the position of Deputy Chief with the Farmers Branch Police Department.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Management and Ethics from Dallas Christian College. Chief Riggs has also completed management courses sponsored by The Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA), The Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) and he attended the 209th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Chief Riggs serves on several executive boards and committees, including the Rockwall County Child Advocacy Center, Ex-Officio Director Rockwall Chamber of Commerce, Texas Police Chiefs Association, North Texas Police Chiefs Association, the Law Enforcement Analysis Portal (LEAP), and North Texas COG Regional Police Academy Law Enforcement Training Advisory Committee.
